This
is the-day the Lord hath-made!
50
years ago, the last century, we had planned a Sunday-picnic at Fort de Chartres
on the ole Mississippi River at the state park.
Saturday
preparations included Candy’s golden fried-chicken, potato-salad, slaw- and
chocolate cake. Her cousin and husband were to join in the adventure.
Sunday
dawned overcast, dreary, with-all-day rain!
So,
we invited the cousin-couple to our house for the day.
We
“picnicked” playing board-games and enjoying
polite-conversation
while dining on the “picnic”-goodies!
The
uninvited rain quenched Mother-earth and
made
the grass-greener, trees-fuller, and flowers-beautiful!
Thank-God
for-rain! We had a great-time, too!
So!?
As Dr. Wayne Dyer said, “Let-go! And, let-God!”
I
adore “every”-day! Rain or shine! Ice or snow!
See,
I’ve planted 12K + trees; they need sun and rain!
Of
the thousands of-pictures I’ve captured, some of the
most
striking and inspirational are an ice-storm in 1974.
We
cancelled New Year’s Eve dinner with friends at
our home. Ice! One huge storm! 1” on branches;
power-lines down.
New
Year’s Day dawned clear-blue with bright sun.
“Nobody”
ventured out, save me and my 35mm SLR!
“Crystal-spider
webs” on trees sparkling in the sun!
I
captured hundreds of gorgeous-photos.
Might
make an interesting coffee-table book!
Glorious!
Amen!
