Christmas-2018 (Part 1 of 2)

Christmas Pleasures…
Enjoy! Each day’s life-treasures

Dare experience each adventure-event God’s goodness daily offered
Dawn-dew, sunshine-cheer, thunderstorm, snowdrift-sculpt coiffured

“Magic” dances, verifying existence in one first flutter-flake
Beautiful as an emerald sea’s white-foam receding wake

Blanket-comfort pristine cover on created nearly-perfect world
Fantasy-delight imagination-fires every heart-young boy and girl

Stark surreal-subtle silver-shadows blend in dark-light mirage play
Sky peach-blush-hue hints portending enchanted fresh-fluff day

Chase dodging frozen-flakes upon warm tongue to tingle-cold
Crackle-fire, chocolate-warm, respite-offer---dare challenge-bold

Night-time, sweet love tight-hold before toasty-golden solace-flame
Blizzard howls lamented-cold; refuses any futile-effort to wild-tame

New Year calendar-itinerary evolves natural into sweetheart’s time
Mid-winter anachronistic-thaw teases spring promise-flavored mime

Ice skates clatter, sleds rocket smooth, Christmas-delivered treasures, these
Valentine hearts, Ides of March, St. Patrick’s leprechaun pleasures, please

Dawn seeks dusk extends shadows-long in awesome greening sight
Yellow-bright dresses with bunny-hops celebrate Easter-ham delight

Icy-freeze reluctant melts away; sun rises warm; winter dissolved
Spring-time “reigns”! April “showers”! Usher May “flowers”-evolved

Yellow morels pop, birds nest, Red-ear sunfish initiate annual lake-spawn
I know a verdant grove; that hidden cove; glimpse a doe, fresh-spotted fawn

Silent salute! Reverent memory! Heart-tug band! Old Glory! Proud unfurled!
Honor all courageous sacrificed-served; many times such redeemed our world

Diamond prepare, rake mound high, chalk line straight; too late for momentum-stall
Red-seamed white-horsehide sails in, bat-club cracks at umpire’s yell of-“Play ball!”

Kids frolic-swim in creek’s cool hole; Robbins, Cardinals, Turtle Doves hatched
Wrens nest in porch-hanging ferns; sore-muscled alfalfa workers rest, detached
