Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
March 17, 2015

Lucky Limericks

Knock! Knock!
500 miles to cast me shadow on her castle door-a
To court lassie pert-Peggy, “Shore and Begorrah!”
Disappointed! Learn that me maiden’s gone
Holiday in Dublin with her Irish lover Sean
’Tis okay. I’ll kiss her pretty younger sister Nora

Free bottle!?
Ambition! Drink the ole Irish whiskey sea dry
Of course, I’ll not make it, but I’ll college-try
I’d rather have a free bottle in front of me
Than W. C. Fields’ free frontal lobotomy
Probably had enough when I agree pigs can fly

Irish Kiss
A “Lucky clover”-find to embrace an Irish-Miss
Better fortune yet to a fetching lassie Irish-kiss
Potato whiskey toast: Bless the Emerald Isle!
Drinks on  the ‘Pot of Gold” Leprechaun-style
Celebrate yon green of good St. Patrick’s Irish-bliss

Irish “See”
There once was a man left ole McKendree
Who traveled afar cross a bright emerald sea
To avoid an errant lorry he jumped in a ditch
Then rescued was he by a wee Irish witch
Returning home smiling, he said,
Tis with her I would rather be!

Irish Dance
Fiddle for me, Bonnie Love, a rousing emotional Irish violin tune
Smile sweetly whilst soft take me hand; cherry lips I promise kiss soon
Sail deep blue-green sea before white billowed canvass afore time is done
Dare traverse I, gleaming sky-castle just west of bright high noon day sun
Fly unicorn fantasy south on wild-wind ore’ alabaster orb of pale full moon

“Thunder” George
(1968-2014)
Sweet heart-chord melody tender-touching Irish folk-song
Reminder true of a single human brotherhood we each belong
Experienced not the pleasure to greet George “Celtic” in me time
Yet, kindred-spirit caressed me heart-chord with clear loving chime
Away he sailed to live in me spirit-soul real men love-lament forlorn

English Row Boat “Oars”?
(An obfuscated confused colloquialism?)
“Let’s go boating!” the Yank to the Limey said
“I’ve got a rowboat, you bring two oars,” he plead
“A fun afternoon in the sun on the water, instead”
The English proudly partake proper tea and crumpets
Second choice they indulge in tasty, saucy hot strumpets
Percy brought “oars”: a big bombshell buxom blonde
and a frisky, fiery, foxy, Irish randy red head

Then! Now! Come! (Past! present! Future!)

Then, Now, Come
(Translation: Past, Present, Future)

In that syncopated morass under life’s history
Prevailing human will affects what the present be
Difficult! Yet, not so obfuscated perspicacity to see
Confess! Oh! Mighty warrior proud! The problem: ME!

Each dawn-Redemption! Another chance; Hope abounds
Challenge true! Taste humble-pie thee has purpose-found
Offer honest speak! Faux celebrity friends finally astound
Laugh out loud at reflected revealed self in humor clowned

Understand a single year in measure
Find essence in each season treasure
Joy! Truly lives in journey pleasure
Adventure-event sense sumptuous “le‘z’ure”

Don hubris-proud locomotion
Spread sweetly honey-lotion
Dare wild-passioned emotion
Project holy, sacred devotion

In judgment thoughts be simple kind
For a harsh word any replacement find
With kind deeds rekindle a loving mind
Demonic-dead ashes leave a-purpose behind

Nature manages seasons four with Spring begins
Wild thunderstorm cools Summer scorcher things
Autumn royal-regal palette painted leaves with wings
White-blanket Winter-comfort restful reticence sings

In delicious freedom allow life take its course
Accept His will, deny thy own to perpetual force
Live Honor-bold like servant-mighty Noble horse
Humble self! Perform Thy will of Almighty Source

Amen!

Faith!? Excuses! & What can I do?

A Sunday Sermon

God calls each of us to be His messenger. At inception, the Master already had a plan for our life. He beckons us to walk with Him, to be so full of His Love that others will see the joy in us and desire what it is that we possess. “Christianity”, it has been alleged, cannot be taught; the concept must be caught. Example teaches---best; desire of Grace catches---best! Amen!
If you think that you could never live like that? Faith! Friend! Faith! Give it a try!
Following are a list of some of the greatest people of the Bible. Each of them held reasonable conviction as to why God could not and would not choose them. Nice try!

Consider these excuses; then, next time you feel God can’t use humble you, just remember:

Jacob was a liar     Noah was a drunk
Leah was ugly        Gideon was afraid
Abraham was too old         Isaac was a daydreamer
Job went bankrupt             Zaccheus was too small
Peter denied Christ                        Paul was too religious
Elijah was suicidal             Rahab was a prostitute
Timothy had an ulcer        Naomi was a widow
Jonah ran away from God’s call
Moses had a speech impediment
Martha was a perpetual worrier
Isaiah thought himself unworthy
Joseph was abused by his brothers
The disciples fell asleep while praying
At Jesus’ arrest, they all forsook Him and fled
Sampson had long hair and was a womanizer
Jeremiah and Timothy thought they were too young
David had an affair with a married woman and murdered her husband
The Samaritan woman who spoke to Jesus at the well was five times divorced

And, the most decided of all excuses:

Lazarus was Dead!

So? What is your excuse? Whatever it is, God can still use you to your full potential!
After all, you are not the message---
You are only the…messenger!

Amen? Amen!

What can I do? Perhaps: Begin

Oh! Such big problems! If only they understood
My free advice: He could! She should! I would!

Issues monumental! Demon-evil challenges inspected
Exacerbated trouble? Culprit? Image mirror-reflected

But! Unfair! It’s not me! Innocence proclaimed!
My little world! My church! My town! Refrained

Issues just too convoluted-difficult for intense introspection
My fault? Guilt? Not in my lexicon concordance inspection

“Not my problem! Nothing I can do! Some other must step-up
Places to go! Things to do! People to see! Is it time for sup?

Faith! Friend! Freely follow fervently omniscient Creator’s call
Promote: “Right!” Simply do: “Good!” Avoid pernicious pitfall

Out West Salida Rocky Mountain-way a leathered rock-hound sits
Sample-filled wood battered box challenges his vast knowledge-wits

Acknowledged him to turn North seeking mountain Arabian-herd
Found Deity along the river bank while sighted awesome eagle-bird

Crystal hailstone-ice pierced clear cerulean space on wild temper-storm
Clumsy-stumbled, bumped hard head, attention got, began sense to form

Vista-awesome nature finally found right there before seeing-blind eyes
High Rocky-beauty white-cotton puffs punctuate pure sapphire skies

Rumble-thunder hoofs of Arabian horses fly tundra choreographed
What might I do? Appreciate! Capture miracle mind-photographed

Seek Love! For, of and by within this fantastic gift- journey---Life!
Passion kiss! Embrace tight! Sense beauty pure! Dare ban all strife!

Clear solution-answers to faux fears surface surely from within
’Tis not they but, rather, I must face-confess evil-burden guilty sin

Lord! Pray I! Let me first display Your “Love” bestowed as best I can
I could! I should! I would! Always to Your Praise! Honor! Glory! Stand
Amen!

Wild celebrate any grand events; cherish close all "Simple" sacred things

Rockin’ Chair

A tiny dog-trot cabin, yet the porch was wide
Pappy built it like the one that Mammy’d spied

In alabaster pale full moon light the old swing rusty chains did squeak
The homemade oaken rocker swayed, the old man’s interest piqued

“Pap,” allowed the boy, “her gold hair shines like noon-time halo sun”
His father nodded, knowing that this lad’s tale of love had now begun

A young man’s star-struck words spoken in religious reverence
His brown eyes aglow so soft to personify eternal pleasur-ence

“She speaks a language sugar-coated through sweet honey lips
To caress soft hand akin to flower nectar which a wild bee sips”

That rocker groaned as Pappy reached to tap his corncob pipe
A work-hard hand did a tear-stained cheek ever-gently wipe

The youth went on without notice of the prideful sign
“Pap, I’ll ask her hand, for love is purely my design”

Quiet still, the old man rose but found no words to speak
A shoulder-firm-approval pat gave all the boy did seek

With love they’d reared this child as parents should
That gentle touch said, “Son, you have done good”

The rainbow flower bed before the porch wafted fragrant summer roses
At dawn, the old man takes a fresh bouquet to where his wife reposes

The boy dreamed glory-fame in that midnight star-filled diamond sky
Pappy smiled tears of future coming tempered in bright days gone by

In seeming end each new beginning lies some patient wait
Where ’ere thee be in time is right, never is our future late

From here to pointed there, enjoy full well this wondrous journey so
Thank God for life, celebrate by shouting, “Yes! Lord! I will go!”

Amen! Amen!

Jesus is a "Country Boy"

Jesus is a "Country Boy"

Our Father issued a clarion invite for any believer to stand tall
While heaven echoed patient silence as not one took His call

A good friend and I were celebrating just purely for the Joy
Relieving my worn out angel-guardian, Jesus is a country boy

In my old red pickup truck, the Son sat shotgun by my side
Trekked up Rocky high, winged-horses on His Great Divide
Down western slope ’til green-Northwest Pacific-blue I spied
Touched San Fran Bay, secular L.A., deep Grand Canyon wide
Texas wild arroyo Llano Estacada to New Orleans Hell-gate pride
Tasted fresh and clear the Keys and Cayman Islands blue crystal tide
On Savannah to Atlanta northeast enjoyed the Atlantic seaboard stride
Touched village on Lake Michigan, visited wide prairie landscape slide
Never “Too late!” Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead---evil devil defied
This sad lost Hedonist, His friend, with parables did Jesus subtly deride
Saints among us, angels, too, He loaned and prayed they help me decide
Through it all until the journey end, His will: From Love I could not hide
Blessed lowly me with family-friends---In Him I Salvation-sacred confide

So? Allow humble I to answer well the Deity call, I should
Love Trinity Father, Son and Holy Ghost the most, I could
Friends! Family! Freedom! Coast to coast; west to west, I would

Your poor excuse and mine, lame, too, He has heard them all
Bathe in the holy Light of Grace by choice, deny any evil fall

Eve refused answer His call, her mouth with apple full
Adam quickly declined “I cannot my marriage annul”

The mark of Kane refused, he was an only child
Desert-Baptist John eating locusts on honey-wild

Moses busy on the mountain top with Commandments stark
Noah ciphering the “cubit”-count? Scrambling to build an ark

Nero fiddled away harsh flames while posh Rome “idol”-burned
Delilah coiffured Sampson’s curly-locks to leave him evil spurned

And, I rode unicorns with Jesus to partake full life’s enjoy
Proud witness to His ways, Jesus is a good ole "Country Boy"

Amen!

Words of Hope! Comfort! Inspiration! (HCI)

Hello! What a beautiful day! Welcome to Carl-E's blog. Relax---Enjoy the ride.

In search of "The Dutchman's Lost Gold Mine", a hopeful prospector found himself sick with the deadly ailment of greed: Gold fever! Remaining too long on the desert, he ran out of precious water. A two day futile search for "liquid gold" left him prostrate on the sandy plateau. Looking heavenward for divine intervention while praying like he never knew he could, the dying man spied a bird perched within his reach on the rim of a rock outcropping. Miraculously, as he observed, his feathered friend dipped its head and came up drinking with water on the tip of its beak. The "tank" held life-saving liquid the prospector sought within its hollowed bowl just out of sight of the man.

When desire beckons, scrutinize the "rewards" value to verify its possible virtue; let that determination be a guide to your decisions. Sometimes, we look too deep. Often, the answer is right before our eyes, within our very grasp, if, we only know "how" too seek. Amen!

Carl-E will offer words of Hope! Comfort! Inspiration! Through this blog. I pray for success in getting the message out resulting in an affirmative outlook.
