I had moseyed down the ridge and taken a seat on 

the stump of a fallen dead tree with branches still

attached on a chilly fall morn chasing wily whitetails.

Fog drifted up the valley and settled in around me. Quiet!

Then---Wraiths appeared...and vanished like spooks!

A doe's ears, then eyes, finally, head. Another. More!

Silent! Like "thoughts" invading a dreamscape.

Nine deer 40' away, coming right at me.

One doe jerked her head, her ears came alert, 

her nostrils flared. The herd stopped dead still, 

every suspicious eye on the incongruous stump.

Then---Zip!...Gone in a whisper! Vanished!

Scattered to the 4-corners in a heartbeat.

Made me wonder if I had even really seen them!?

But---I indeed had!...I treasure the memory, still!

Solitude!---Nature's kingdom!...Man's fleeting!

Manager, coaches, bat boy, too, the game complete designed, refined, resigned
 
All such conception only to prepare “First pitch” for this “game’s” inception
Each contest image by His purpose reflects one human life in introspection
