Oh! Heaven-Joy! Northern-chill Whisper-wind SNOW it blizzard-blends

 

“Nanny and Bapa would you tell us an old-time tail?” Youngsters ask.

“You bet! Darling children! While in ‘humble’ limelight we bask!”

 

Thanksgiving! Lord! We appreciate Thy Blessings and Thank Thee!

In Praise! Honor! & Glory! We humble reflect with our progeny!

 

Begins new day with pink-blush hint-of-dawn excitement-promise!

Arise climbing orange-orb stir calm wind to awaken rested earth!

Mid-morn respite in cool filigree-shade under ancient silver maple!

Nourishment-sustenance break with comfort-warm high noon sun!

Oh! Mid-afternoon ice-cream sweet-treat refreshment offering Cool!

Mom’s gourmet-Love dinner in purple-eve long-shadow growing!

Gathered Family on the front porch to verbal sum-tally the gone-day!

In my black & white world…It IS!
 
Recently, I wrote: You are more than welcome to board
my train for the adventure-ride; if you choose “not” to
participate, fine, just do NOT stand on the tracks!
 
“You” are cordially invited to the Thanksgiving feast;
Yeah! We already have a “turkey”---“I” will be there!
 
What a day! What another chance! What a challenge!
 
Okay! So “Uncle Harry” or “Cousin Betty” will assuredly
be there. So? Maybe you’ll choose to be absent.
Your personal choice; your personal loss. Choose wisely.
 
Thanksgiving is “one” of those special times, “A sacred day”,
as it were, a chance at “Reconciliation”! Bury the hatchet?!
Not “literally”; only metaphorically. A challenge to “Forgiveness”!
 
Wow! Christian-charity! Do “you” have Any? Practice Any? Ever?
 
Just “one” day! Just “one”! A chance! An opportunity! A challenge!
 
Elvis’-talent is an inspiration to me. The “Crooner King”! Amen!
He sang: Why can’t every day be like Christmas? I say: It can be!
 
Okay! So? We blew Thanksgiving; In one month we get another chance:
Christmas! Can you tether a cancer-“spite” for Christ’s birth-celebration?
 
Blew it, too? Well! Okay! There are more noted holidays coming.
 
For me? “Simple-I”---every day is…Christmas! “My” sacred-choice!
 
So? Well, maybe it’s just too easy for me? Really? How easily so?
 
Well! Appreciation! I chose to be “Santa Claus”! Every day! All the time!

Let’s reminisce! It’s quite the exciting Fairy-tale story!

Faith! Family! Freedom! “Our” true life-Love Glory!

 

Live! Love! Laugh! Our Awesome time-through-space just Great!

God blessed me with thee! “He”, alone, plans our Glorious-fate!

 

Fantasy Love-tales are. always so Delicious, begin with an inception!

We live eternal-instances freely culminating in exquisite introspections!

Candy-girl! True! Kind! Loving! Mother! Grand! & Great!---Simply…Perfection!

 
’S-true! I tell you! She knocked me out of that ole dead cherry tree! Sure-enough! ’S-true!
I’m 12 (Candy-girl will tell you everything happened to me when I was “12”!) and my Dad has a Saturday chore for his eldest son: chop down the dead cherry tree on Grandma’s line beside her garden. Hmm!
In retrospect, I’m glad ole Dad had my “work” life and ethics---planned…to the “T”! I sure-enough reckon-so that I learned how to do a great many things in life; came in mighty handy.
So? Here I am, fully concentrating on the issue at hand, tediously attacking the stubborn tree obstruction trying to remove the impediment, probably deep in “prayer” as I had just recently taken the St Henry Seminary entrance exam to begin holy-sacred studies in the Roman Catholic tradition of priest-training persuasion, when across the way, strolling down the side street leading to Beauty Candy’s house, comes a floating temptation-call to my innocent reverent ear!!? Hmm!?
“Hey! Big-boy! Don’t hurt yourself!” I spied the goddess yonder there. A Thunderbolt!
Unable to speak, just thankful not to have chopped off a finger, or two, I stared. Spellbound!
Wow! The goddess had graced innocent (simple-humble)-me with recognition! Awestruck!
I had entertained the idea of “Love-at-first-sight!”---Now Lovely-Candy presented it!...Wow!
A-fore just too long, I managed to offer Gorgeous-Girl a ride---She accepted…Love! begins!
And, so---the holy-sacred priesthood is put “on-hold”…Oh! Well! “Father”-Carl!? Really!?
Took yon maiden to Fantasy Fox Lake for bar-b-que. Read the damsel-Beauty poetry upon the waves to woo her affections! Suave! A Gentleman-of-Class! Even taught the girl how to row!
We managed college with more-than-adequate family help. Thank you! All! Patient & kind!
Lived on peanut butter-crackers (10¢), another dime for Coke, each Delight shared. Nirvana!
Worked 2^nd shift at Chrysler for a summer; stocked shelves for A&P food store in South County for a while, suffered midnights for A.T.&T. in downtown St. Louis as a computer operator on the IBM 360 6-drive state-of-the-art 1^st generation “AI”, worked as a laborer for good ole IDOT, did a stint at highway surveying, labored for a farmer and helped carpenter his house, dug ditches, farmed, ranched, painted, mowed lawns and even had a few real jobs! Dabbled in real estate, remodeled and built houses and swimming pools, rode horses, loved nature, planted trees, fished, hunted, golfed, even, played a little baseball. Took Grandson Z. Tyler out-of-school to go play golf! Delightful! Taught him to drive my Ranger at age 12!
Hopefully, offered some inspiration through example somewhere along the way, Did Good!?
Took a bazillion pictures and slides; maybe, I got one or two worthy reflections!?
Thee? Perfect-wife! –mother! –teacher! –chef! -confidant! Former students still Love you!
We traveled, took cruises, vacations, Europe, Canada, myriad “day” trips, lived and loved.
And---the diamonds in me precious golden crown?…Caty! Becky! Z.! Lauren! Lex-Lu! Anna! Gabriella Leigh! Asher Cade! Graig! Alexander! Jennifer! Only---the …Beginning! I hope!
Of course!---The “center” necessary jewel to all of my legacy…Lovely-Lady Candice Leah!
58! Years! Wow! Support! Patience! Understanding! Forgiveness! Trust! Honor! Awesome!
For 20-odd years I called my Lady-Candice a “Saint”! And---undoubtedly, she is! Amen!
Then, one fine day, another Thunderbolt! I hit myself in the forehead with the heel of my hand and confessed what I had missed. “She’s not only a “Saint”---but…a “glorious”-Angel!
“I sold the house!” Okay! “I sold property!” Okay! I sold the farm!” Okay! “I sold…!” Okay!
Then, one day!? “I sold everything! We’re moving to Oregon!” Okay! I’m already packing!
Wow! Such Trust! Sweet-Love! God has Blessed me exceedingly with Lady-Candy Love!
She has indulged my immature, irresponsible childish behavior with Angelic-patience Grace attributing my flightiness to childlike-Innocence! How could she know I’d never “grow-up”!?
Sorry! I do know how tough it must be sometimes!? I’m having too much Fun living-the-adventure among Rainbows! Butterflies! & Unicorns soaring the cosmos in Fantasy reality!?
Thank you! For joining me in this eternal Quest-of-Appreciation! Thee are my inspiration!
Children! Great! & Grand! Kitty-cats! Puppy-dogs! Horses! Cattle! Chickens! Ducks! More!
